There is nothing like a nice cool slice of Strawberry Pie on a Hot Summer day. Kids will love this pie as a snack in the afternoon. It’s also a perfect dessert for a backyard bar-b-que!

1 1/2 Cups Sugar
4 Tbsp. Cornstarch
1 Large Box Strawberry Gelatin
3 Cups Water
4 Cups Sliced Strawberries
1 Tub Cool Whip Topping
2 9 inch Deep Dish Pie Shells

First, bake pie shells according to directions and set aside to cool. Then mix sugar, cornstarch and jello together in a pot and add water. Cook on a medium heat stirring consistently until mixture is thick and has a transparent look to it. Set aside to cool. Slice strawberries and divide evenly in each pie shell. Poor cooled mixture over strawberries. Chill in the refrigerator for a fews hours, top with cool whip and serve!

*Here’s a quick tip: Before baking your pie shells. Take a fork and poke a few holes in the bottom and sides of the shells. This will keep air from getting underneath and help keep your shell from breaking.
