Recipes - Meats and Entrees






  1 Large Head of White Cabbage
  1 Half Pound of Bacon
  1 Large Onion
  6 Cups of Water
  1 Tbsp Canola or Olive Oil
  1 Tbsp Sugar or Splenda
  Salt and Pepper to Taste

Wash and chop cabbage and onions and place in a large stock pot or Dutch Oven. Cut sliced bacon into 3 inch pieces and place in pot. Boil on a medium fire until cabbage in tender and water has evaporated.

Add a tablespoon of cooking oil, sugar, seasonings and fry cabbage until it turns slightly yellow in color. Serve as a side dish or with steaming white rice.
